On April 21, the “4 children buried” incident in Yuanyang, Henan Province, continued to ferment. The Red Star News reporter learned from the families of the children who died in the afternoon that four children were buried in a cemetery in Zhuliuyuan Village, Yuanyang. After the family’s consent, journalists from Red Star News, Beijing News, and Upstream News went to the interview.
At the gate of the cemetery, the reporter was stopped by more than a dozen unidentified persons. Subsequently, the reporter asked the specific identities of the above personnel and why they blocked, but no response was received.
A woman at the scene claimed: “You can’t go in for an interview without the permission of the government. Is that worth an interview?”
The reporter repeatedly asked the reason for the blockade but has not been informed. Subsequently, multiple unidentified persons mentioned above pushed and beaten the Red Star journalist. When the reporter used the mobile phone to shoot, the mobile phone was robbed, the clothes were torn, and the glasses were trampled.
At the same time, the reporter from the Beijing News was shoved, blocked, kicked arms and pinched necks, and the drone was disturbed. The upstream news reporter was also forcibly controlled by many people while filming, and his mobile phone was taken away.
The Red Star News reporter noticed that at least one Yuanyang County government official was present, but did not step forward to stop it.
At present, many reporters on the scene have called the police.
In addition, a number of media also called the relevant person in charge of the Propaganda Department of Yuanyang County Party Committee on this incident, and the person in charge said that they would deal with it as soon as possible.
